Http://www.exsnia.org) held the presentation of the book "On The Brinks" (Recently translated in Italian) hosted by the author Samuel 'Sam' Millar, "Ireland's most controversial novelist and playwright" as he was described by the Irish News (Northern Irish crime writer and playwright from Belfast; former member of the IRA; reviewer for the New York Journal of Books. He was in Derry on Bloody Sunday as a 16-year-old, shortly after he joined the IRA. In 1973 he was the first nationalist to be jailed under the non-jury 'Diplock Court System'. In 1976 he was arrested with explosives in Belfast. "He was one of the first to go on the dirty protest, on the blanket, and the last to quit" - Source the Irish Times. He states not to be a member of IRA anymore. After prison, he moved to the US where he got involved in the $7.2m Brinks robbery - the biggest armoured car depot robbery in American history. In the meantime, he owned a comic bookstore in the borough of Queens, New York. Then, he was arrested, sentenced to 60 years in prison, did six years in a US penitentiary. For his crime he received the "pardon" from the US President Bill Clinton due to the recently signed "Good Friday Agreement". Finally, he went back to Northern Ireland, where he started his new career as an author writing numerous books, including: Dark Souls, The Redemption Factory, The Darkness of Bones, his autobiography On the Brinks).
