Today, hundreds of thousands of people marched through central London (From Victoria Embankment to Hyde Park) taking part in a demonstration organised by the Trades Union Congress (TUC). The rally sought to highlight the failures of austerity measures implemented by the coalition Government. At the end of the rally, a small number of protesters left the march moving to Oxford Street where they protested against various retail outlets including: Starbucks, Marks and Spencer, Primark, Boots, McDonald's and Vodafone, all of which are accused of tax avoidance or use/abuse of the workfare scheme.
