Fasting Of Justice In Solidarity With Migrants – Padre Alex Zanotelli

Rome, 03/07/19. Today, Padre Alex Zanotelli (Combonian Missionary, founder of movements whose goals include social harmony & equality: http://bit.ly/2FHBH3a) has begun his first day of Digiuno di Giustizia in Solidarietà con i Migranti (Fasting Of Justice In Solidarity With Migrants, 1.) with a rally in Vatican's St. Peter Square. Then, with a group of protesters, he marched to the Parliament, where the main rally took place and where people brought solidarity. This peaceful protest is expressing support & solidarity with Migrant People, with the commander of the Sea-Watch 3 Carola Rackete (2.), with the Judge of Agrigento Alessandra Vella who freed Rackete due to "saving migrants in need in the sea is not a crime, but it's a precise duty", with the former Mayor of Riace Domenico Mimmo Lucano (3.). Moreover, this demo is against the decision of the Interior Minister Matteo Salvini (League – Lega, http://bit.do/eE7Ey) to keep closed the Italian ports to NGO vessels, and to show that Italy is still a welcoming Country and that its people are still supporting International Laws which impose to rescue when people are in need. Last but not least, fasting & protest were organised against racism, intolerance, "authoritarian intimidations", against the policies of the coalition Government League – Five Star Movement, especially the so-called Decreti Salvini / Decreti Sicurezza (The first Decree is now Law of the Italian Republic, Legge 1° Dicembre 2018, n. 132, http://bit.do/eE7uo, Decree Law n. 53, 14 June 2019, http://bit.do/eV3iZ), made by the Interior Minister Salvini accused by protesters to be racist and restrictive of civil liberties.
