Christine Lagarde is a French politician and an anti-trust and labour lawyer. She has been the Managing Director of the IMF since July 2011. Previously, she worked as a partner with the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie, where in October 1999 she elected chairman (until June 2005). In 2007 she was appointed Finance Minister of France in the Sarkozy's centre-right Government.
