London, 09/12/2013. Today, the judge Kevin Moore of the North London Immigration and Asylum Chamber overturned the decision of the Home Secretary Theresa May to deport the Australian protester Trenton Oldfield. The 37 years old activist, in April 2012, leapt in the Thames and stopped the annual Oxford versus Cambridge boat race in protest against "elitism and the inequality that arises out of elitism" in the United Kingdom, especially during this time of tough austerity. Then, Mr Oldfield was sentenced six months in prison for "public nuisance" (offence often in conflict with the European Convention on Human Rights). Moreover, Trenton was facing deportation to Australia (because he was 'not conducive to the public good') by the Home Office and separation from his wife and five-month-old daughter, both British citizens. Today, instead, the judge Moore, who sentenced Trenton Oldfield, recognised him as a valuable member of this community.<br />
