London, 28/10/2015. Hundreds of soldiers held a demonstration in Parliament square to mark the Birthday of the Royal Marines, founded the 28th October 1664, and to show support & solidarity with Sgt. Alexander Blackman (known throughout his court case as 'Marine A') and to demand a judicial review from his life sentence given in 2013 for killing an injured suspected Taliban member in Afghanistan in 2011 (Source Wikipedia.org -

On the 26th of October 2015, the Ministry of Defence warned serving servicemen and women that under 'Queens Regulations Royal Navy': "they are not to attend any political protests, marches, rallies or demonstrations. Any gathering which seeks to protest against a decision taken by the legal system or the government falls into this category". Blackman's wife, Claire, attended the event.
