The demo in Rome was promoted by a coalition lead by the CGIL Trade Union, ANPI (WWII Italian Partizans Organization), Europe for Peace, Rete Italiana Pace e Disarmo, Coalizione Assisi Pace Giustizia, Sbilanciamoci, supported by numerous Organizations, Trade Unions, NGOs, politicians, students, Artists aimed to express a strong messages for peace, solidarity, strong disagreement against the ongoing genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. Wars have been always linked to the military-industrial complex and various other interests - , so they cannot automatically lead to diplomacy, a ceasefire and peace talks, but instead prolong the conflict and let the killing of more civilians.
On the 7 Oct. 2023, a large-scale-invasion of Israel (Operation Al-Aqsa Flood) was launched by the Palestinian militant groups led by Hamas from the Gaza Strip. Consequently, an asymmetric war (Operation Swords of Iron) was declared by Israel against the People of the Gaza Strip which killed at least 42000+ people (including 16000+ children, 198+ healthcare workers, 116+ journalists, 110+ UNRWA workers), with over 95760+ injured (reported by the Gaza health ministry, 21.09.24, 1.). The Israelis killed in the Hamas attack are 1200+, 3400 wounded, 240+ abducted. IDF soldiers killed in Gaza are 644+, 3871+ injured (2.).
Gaza, with about 2.3 million people confined to about 140 square miles, is one of the most densely populated places in the world.
