Rome, 07/11/2018. Today, ANPI Roma (National Association of Italian Partizans, Members of the Italian Resistance) celebrated the 100th birthday of Partizan GAP Commander Prof. Mario Fiorentini holding a fully booked public event at the Casa della Memoria e della Storia di Roma (House of Memory and History of Rome). Mario Fiorentini (AKA, Giovanni, as the Apostle; Gandhi, due to be very skinny; Fringuello, due to a launch with a parachute; Dino, as he is called in Piedmont, https://bit.ly/2PL1IHn) was the Commander of the GAP "Antonio Gramsci" in Rome. The GAPs - Gruppi di Azione Patriottica (Patriotic Action Groups, https://bit.ly/2K3jCmJ) were famous because their members, called "Gappisti", carried out acts of sabotage & guerrilla warfare against nazi-fascist troups in cities such as Rome, Milan, Genova, Bologna and others. In Rome, Mario Fiorentini, along with his wife Lucia Ottobrini "Maria" and other partizans, took part in numerous acts of guerrilla including the "Attack of Via Rasella" on 23 March 1944 (Aredeatine Massacre on Wikipedia, https://bit.ly/2ASTk0a). The Man of "Three Lives in One", as Mario Fiorentini is usually described: "Humanist, GAP Partizan, Mathematician", was a roman communist intellectual member of a Jewish family who joined the Partizans Resistance (https://bit.ly/20uiWFf) after the 8 September 1943 Armistice. Subsequently the end of WWII, Mario, helped by his wife, studied maths becaming Professor of Superior Geometry at the University of Ferrara and a globally-known Mathematichian.<br />
