The People's Assembly, supported by some of the major trade unions (Unite, Unison and PCS), the Green Party, Stop the War Coalition, Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) and other campaigning groups, held a demonstration in Whitehall to protest against the Budget 2014 presented during the day by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne. The demonstration ended at the gates of Downing Street, where some activists handed the first set of signatures of the "People's Budget petition".
