London, 08/09/2013. Hundreds of protesters held a demonstration outside the east entrance of the ExCel Centre in East London to protest against the world's largest arms trade fair, where international military manufacturers exhibit their products. The trade fair has come under scrutiny various times in the past as Amnesty International campaigners and journalists have discovered internationally banned products (for example cluster bombs munitions and human restraints equipment) on sale. This action (the first of 15 events) was organised by the "Stop the Arms Fair Coalition", which includes the "London Campaign Against the Arms Trade" (CAAT), "Disarm DSEi", "East London Against Arms Fairs", "Occupy London" and "Quakers for Peace". Several demonstrators were arrested.
