Today, the LSE (London School of Economics and Political Studies) European Institute presented a public lecture called "The Case for Europe: the Italian vision" hosted by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella (Italian Politician, lawyer and judge; he is the 12th President of the Italian Republic; he was a member of Parliament from 1983 to 2008 elected for the Christian Democracy Party in the western Sicily constituency; he served as Minister of Education from 1989 to 1990, as Deputy Prime Minister of Italy from 1998 to 1999 and as Minister of Defence from 1999 to 2001. In 2011, he became an elected judge on the Constitutional Court).
