London, 28/09/2015. Tonight, the Red Super Moon (also called "Blood Moon") and the lunar eclipse 2015 took place. Two different astronomical phenomenons could possibly have been observed on the London's sky:
1. The Moon was close to the "Perigee stage" (also known by astronomers as "Perigee Moon"; the technical name is the "perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system" - source Wikipedia.org), which means that our Satellite was just 59 minutes past its closest point to Planet Earth, resulting proximate to the largest apparent size of the lunar disk, 14% larger and 30% brighter than normal.
2. A total lunar eclipse took place between September 27 and 28, 2015. It was seen Sunday evening, September 27, in the Americas; while in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, it was seen in the early hours of Monday morning, September 28 (source Wikipedia.org).
