London, 02/07/2016. Today, more than 60 thousand people marched peacefully from Park Lane to Parliament Square to protest against the EU Referendum result which is leading the United Kingdom to the so called "Brexit", in other words to leave the European Union. Protestors of all ages were present in significant numbers representing all the generations of the British population. On the 23rd of June 2016 the British people voted in the EU Referendum (Turnout 72.2%): 51,9% to leave the EU (17,410,742 Votes) versus 48,1% to remain in the EU (16,141,241 Votes). In the morning of the 24th of June the British Prime Minister David Cameron gave a speech outside 10 Downing Street in which he announced the EU Referendum results and his formal resignation within 3 months. Cameron decision triggered the leadership race in the Conservative Party between the Home Secretary Theresa May MP (backed Remain in the EU Referendum) and the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice Michael Gove MP (backed Leave in the EU Referendum). On the 30th of June, the former Mayor of London and major figure in the Leave Campaign, Boris Johnson MP, surprisingly withdrew from the leadership contest. The new leader of the Conservative Party will succeed David Cameron as the new British Prime Minister.<br />
