Rome, 10/01/2019. Today, Blocchi Precari Metropoloitani, supported by other organizations and trade unions, held a rally outside the Rome's City Hall in Piazza del Campidoglio to protest against evictions linked to the endless Rome's 'housing crisis' and regeneration plans. Protesters called for the main political parties - of Rome and Italy - to put the housing crisis, the discussion and the solutions to it as the main point for the 2019 political agenda. The demonstration was also called in support of Solidarity and Social Justice, against inequalities, racism, and against the policies of the Government League - Five Star Movement, especially the so-called "Decreto Salvini / Decreto Sicurezza" (Decree which is now Law of the Italian Republic, Legge 1° Dicembre 2018, n. 132, http://bit.do/eE7uo), made by the Interior Minister Matteo Salvini (League - Lega, https://bit.ly/2DxlqQk & http://bit.do/eE7Ey) accused by protesters & activists to be racist and restrictive of civil liberties. Moreover, the demo was also called to show support and solidarity with migrants, refugees, minorities, and to make heard the voices of the people who have paid the crisis with the rise of exploitation, discrimination, unemployment.
