more »London, 26/03/2017. Today, I followed Javed and his daughter to the "Central Asian Spring Festival UK" held at UCL Main Quad (University College London). From the organiser’s Facebook Page and website: <<The BIGGEST event of spring - the Central Asian Spring Festival in London 2015 (also known as Neuruz, Nauryz, Navruz, Novruz, Nooruz or Nowruz). Being an ancient festival, Navruz is celebrated through centuries and is about peace, charity, and love. This year, representatives of six countries are coming together to celebrate this grand occasion>>, <<Our mission is to promote diversity by building cultural and charitable ties between the UK and countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus>>.
Javed was really enthusiastic to be my guide throughout this annual festival which coincides with the celebrations for the new year 1396, the Nowruz: <<[…] literally "New Day", it is the name of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by the Iranians and Turkic peoples, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the New Year.
