London, 07/04/2017. Today, Stop the War Coalition, supported by CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) held a demonstration against Donald Trump's missile attack to the al-Shayran air base near the western city of Homs. Before dawn of Friday 7 April 2017, 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from the USS Porter and USS Ross warships in the Mediterranean Sea in respose to the Khan Shaykhun alleged chemical attack (4 April 2017) - ordered by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad - what President of the United States, Donald Trump, called 'horrible chemical weapons attack' in Idlib. From the organiser Facebook event page: <<[…] The Stop the War Coalition condemns Donald Trump's decision to launch attacks against Syrian targets. This action will only increase the level of killing in Syria, and inflame the terrible war that has already caused untold misery for the people of the country. This is the worst possible way to respond to the indefensible attack at Khan Sheikhun. As well as deepening the tragedy of the Syrian people, this utterly irresponsible act threatens to widen the war and lead the West into military confrontation with Russia. It is shameful that Theresa May has rushed to support this act by the most xenophobic and reactionary US president in history […]>>. The demonstration was briefly interrupted by a Syrian refugee, Hassan Akkad, from Damascus, who lively protested accusing Stop the War not to remonstrate or, at least, just mention President Assad and his Russian allies as war crime's perpetrators against the civilians in Syria. He said: "British people not letting a Syrian say something about Syria in a protest about Syria. It's mad" (Source – BBC.co.uk at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39540340).<br />
