Today, the LSE (London School of Economics) presented a public lecture called "Reflections on a Changing World: 1950-2050" hosted by Professor Amartya Sen (Indian philosopher and economist awarded the 1998 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his contributions to welfare economics and social choice theory, and for his interest in the problems of society's poorest members; in 2012 became the first non-U.S. citizen recipient of the National Humanities Medal; currently Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University) and Sir James Wolfensohn (Ninth president of the World Bank Group, from 1995 to 2005). Chair of the event was Professor Lord Stern (IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government, Chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the LSE).
