London, 11/09/2014. Today, British Army Gurkha veterans and their wives held a demonstration outside the Houses of Parliament to protest against their pensions being only a fifth of that of other British soldiers. In 2009 the Gurkhas (also spelled as Gorkhas, are soldiers from the South Asian country of Nepal) who fought for the British Army and retired before 1997 were granted to settle in the UK but the long discussed issue about their pensions is still debated in the House of Commons.
