Today, MACRO Asilo (Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, 1.) held a public event called "Io Sono Confine" (The 'Illegal' traveller: an auto-ethnography of borders, 2.), hosted by the author of the homonymous book Shahram Khosravi. The event - part of the Project: "L'Inatteso a Roma Est" - was organised by the Collective Stalker/NoWorking (3.). From Macro Asilo's website (4.): «Iranian, professor of social anthropology at the University of Stockholm; [Shahram Khosravi] was an illegal migrant in 1988 and used his personal experience as a starting point for his studies on migrants, political refugees and forced to migrate. Io sono confine (Elèuthera, 2019, 5.) is his first text published in Italy and it is a cross between personal history and ethnographic text or auto-ethnography as he himself defines it, which gives us an innovative perspective on the mother of issues today; finding the place of one's personal experience in the social and geopolitical context». Shahram Khosravi's (6.) research interests include anthropology of Iran and the Middle East, migration, human rights, forced displacement. In October 1991, Shahram Khosravi was a 25-year-old student when was shot in the face outside the Stockholm University by John Ausonius (notorious Swedish criminal known as "the laser man"), a hate crime linked to the fact of being Muslim.
