Today LSE (London School of Economics) presented a public discussion called "Tragedy of the European Union: Disintegration or Revival?: how Europe must now choose between economic and political revival or disintegration" hosted by the author of the homonymous book, George Soros (Born Schwartz György, Hungarian-born American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist; he is chairman of Soros Fund Management; Founder and adviser of the Quantum Fund which has generated $40 billion since its inception in 1973, including $5.5 billion in 2013, making it again the most successful hedge fund in history ; he is also chairman of the Open Society Foundations) and Anatole Kaletsky (USSR born economist and journalist based in the United Kingdom; he has written since 1976 for The Economist, The Financial Times and The Times of London before joining Reuters and The International Herald Tribune in 2012). Chair of the event was Professor Mary Kaldor CBE (British academic; Professor of Global Governance at the LSE, where she is also the Director of the Civil Society and Human Security Research Unit; she writes on globalisation, international relations and humanitarian intervention, global civil society and global governance, as well as what she calls New Wars).
