Rome, 31/01/2020. Today, Pro-Palestinian activists and members of the public gathered in Piazza Barberini to protest (1.) against the "Peace To Prosperity" plan (AKA the "Deal of the Century", 2.) made by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to allegedly solve the long-standing conflict between Palestine and Israel. From the organisers Facebook event page: «The Palestinian community in Rome and Lazio invites all those who believe in the values of freedom, justice and self-determination of peoples to held a sit-in Piazza Barberini in Rome in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to ask to reject the shameful plan announced by Trump. The sit-in was organized by the Palestinian Community in Rome and Lazio, Assopace Palestina [3.] and Rete Romana di Solidarietà con il Popolo Palestinese [4.] […]». During the sit-in a small delegation of protesters were allowed to demonstrate outside the US Embassy in Rome, near Piazza Barberini.
