King Robbo was an English underground graffiti artist, "one of the pioneers of the Graffiti Writing" from the '80s, who became more widely known following a massive graffiti war with the Bristol-based artist Banksy (Channel 4 TV Documentary "Graffiti Wars": http://bit.ly/1owkSaI). On April 2, 2011 King Robbo sustained a life threatening head injury - allegedly falling from a step ladder while he was making Graffiti - 5 days prior to his exhibition at the Signal Gallery in Shoreditch. King Robbo has died aged 45 on the 31st of July 2014 after spending the last three years in a medically induced coma. Many Graffiti Artists came to Leake Street to pay tribute to King Robbo.
