Demonstration in support and solidarity with Spanish women who are fighting to keep their existing rights to access safe and legal abortion, which were established in their current form only since 2010, by Zapatero's Socialist Government. The incumbent Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, of the centre-right Spanish Government (Popular Party majority) is in the process of criminalising abortion, allowing it only in the case of rape or where the health of the mother or foetus is at serious risk. The demonstration in London, part of internationally unified protests, started as a trip to Madrid 'in spirit' via a symbolic journey from Charing Cross Station to Waterloo East, and ended on Hungerford Bridge (and Golden Jubilee Bridges).
