Commemoration For The 176 Victims Of Flight 752 Crash - La Sapienza University Rome

Rome, 13/01/2020. Today, Persian Students Association at Sapienza University of Rome - supported by students and professors - held a candle light vigils (1.) outside the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of the University of Rome La Sapienza to commemorate the 176 victims of the Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752. The airplane crashed on Wednesday 08 January 2020 after its take-off from Tehran Imam Khomeini International airport. The crash came after the the targeted assassination of the Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani killed by US drone strike - ordered by the US President Donald Trump - on 03 January 2020 and the consequent Iranian missile launch against two US bases in Iraq. On 11 January 2020, three days after the crash, Iran admitted downing the jet "unintentionally", "by mistake", blaming a "human error". "The Islamic Republic of Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake. My thoughts and prayers go to all the mourning families", President Hassan Rouhani said. The Candle light vigil was held to send condolences and show support and solidarity with the families and friends of the victims, "اساتید و دانشجویان دانشگاه ساپینزا برای همدردی با خانواده های درگذشتگان به ویژه دانشجویان حادثه هواپیمایی اکراین روز دوشنبه ساعت ۱۷:۳۰ تا ۱۹:۰۰ مقابل دانشکده ادبیات و فلسفه گرد هم می آیند. <br />
