Rome, 16/10/2018. Today, to mark the first anniversary of the murder of Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, FNSI, Articolo21, ODG, Rete No Bavaglio, amongst others, called a demo outside the Embassy of Malta. The aims of the rally were to pay tribute to Daphne Caruana Galizia, to support the global call for truth and justice to investigate and arrest who commissioned and instigated the murder. The Maltese journalist, 53, was killed by a car bomb (the explosive device was placed under her rented car) on the afternoon of the 16 October 2017 near her home in Bidnija. Daphne Caruana Galizia was a well-known journalist, who dedicated her career to investigate and expose political and financial corruption, mafias, and in the last two years she entirely focused on revelations provided by the Panama Papers (11.5 million leaked confidential documents detailing info - 2. - about 214,000+ offshore entities listed by the Panamanian corporate service provider Mossack Fonseca, entities created to hide money of high profile people, criminals, companies, politicians and their relatives, including the father of the 2010-2016 British Prime Minister David Cameron, 3.).
"A public inquiry into whether my mother's life could have been saved is important to us as a family, as we need to know the whole truth about my mother’s assassination. And it is important for Malta as a country and for journalists working in Malta as it is the only way for the State to learn how to prevent future deaths" Andrew Caruana Galizia, Daphne son said (1.).
