Rome, 23/03/2019. Today, to celebrate the Newroz the Kurdish Centro Socio-Culturale Ararat (part of the Ex Mattatoio di Testaccio, 1.) and the Rete Kurdistan Italia (2.) held the event called Newroz Piroz Be - Il Fuoco Della Resistenza (The Fire Of Resistance, 3.). This year celebration - New Year 2719 - in Rome is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the detention by the Turkish state of the Kurdistan leader Abdullah Ocalan, to the struggle of the 7000+ Kurdish political prisoners in Turkey, who have been in hunger strike since the 1st March 2019, to Zulkuf Gezer who died while in hunger strike, and to the Italian – Internationalist fighter, Lorenzo 'Orso' Orsetti (Tekosoer Piling), who died the 18th March 2019 in Siria, while fighting along with Kurdish forces in the battle against ISIS/Daesh.<br /> <br /> Footnotes & Links:<br /> <br /> 1. https://www.facebook.com/retekurdistanroma/<br /> 2. https://www.retekurdistan.it <br /> 3. https://bit.ly/2TF7ad3
