London, 04/12/2013. Today, "Kilburn Unemployed Workers Group" held a demonstration in support of the Boycott Workfare Week of Action outside the Hammersmith Jobcentre, the only place in London where the Universal Credit has so far been implemented. The aim of the protest was in particular to highlight that the Universal Credit scheme (which is set to replace important existing state benefits) being pushed forward by Ian Duncan Smith (Secretary of State for Work and Pensions), additionally to being perceived as ideologically prejudiced against vulnerable people in society, has also <<already wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayers' money>>.
