London, 15/07/2014. Today, thousands of people gathered outside the BBC HQ in central London to protest against the "BBC anti-Palestinian bias" which has been used to report the news from the ongoing war on the Gaza's Strip. During the demonstration a letter, signed by 45,000 people, was delivered to the BBC, where, amongst others, John Pilger (Australian Journalist, writer, documentary filmmaker) said: <<We would like to remind the BBC that Gaza is under Israeli occupation and siege>>, Ken Loach (English film and television director) said: <<The BBC's reporting of Israel's assault on Gaza is entirely devoid of context or background>>, and Brian Eno (English musician, composer, record producer, singer and visual artist) said: <<the BBC seems to regard Palestinians lives as less valuable than Israeli lives>>. A BBC spokesperson in an interview released to the Evening Standard newspaper said: <<"BBC News reports widely and extensively across TV, radio and online, on many different aspects of this ongoing and complex conflict. Our role is to explain what is happening and why and we endeavour to reflect a range of voices, amid deeply held views. We are committed to continuing to report and analyse sometimes fast moving events in an accurate, fair and balanced way">>. The demonstration was called amongst others by War On Want, Stop The War Coalition, London Palestine Action, FOA - Friends of Al Aqsa, PSC - Palestine Solidarity Campaign, BMI - British Muslim Initiative, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
