London, 09/12/2010. Student demonstration in London (and in several other locations across UK) organised by NCAFC (National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts), the Coalition of Resistance, NUS (National Union of Students), Right to Work, UCU, Higher Education conference, Education Activist Network, London student assembly. Around 40,000 people protested on the day of the House of Commons vote to rise tuition fees up to £9,000 a year. After a march started from Malet Street the protesters were kettled in Parliament Square by police forces using riot gear, horses and vans. The protest ended on Westminster Bridge where the police herded the people and kettled them for approximately two hours.
