London, 02/05/2017. Today, to mark the last day of the British Parliament (due to be dissolved because of the General Election of the 8 of June 2017) Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) and WinVisible held a demonstration started outside the Houses of Parliament, then moved to to the Conservative Party HQ and ended with a peaceful roadblock - patrolled by the MET Police - outside Westminster Abbey in Victoria Street. The aim of the protest was to highlight the 'treatment' dedicated to disabled people from the Coalition Government (Conservative and Liberal Democrats, 2010 - 2015), then the David Cameron's Conservative Government (without the LibDem, 2015 - 2016) and finally the actual Conservative Government led by the former Secretary of State Theresa May. Just to mention the last of several events related to disabled people's rights in the United Kingdom, in November 2016, a United Nations enquiry highlighted that the British Government's welfare reform systematically violated disabled people's rights.
