The President of Ireland is paying an official state visit to the United Kingdom from the 8th to the 11th April 2014, in which President Higgins (Poet, writer, academic, statesman, Human Rights advocate, former first Irish Minister for Arts and Culture) and his wife Sabina have met, amongst others, Her Majesty the Queen and the Labour leader Ed Miliband.
