He has been described as a prominent cultural figure, and was voted the "world's top public intellectual" in a 2005 – source Wikipedia.org) met Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy where the 16th August 2012 the President of Ecuador Rafael Correa and his Government granted the Diplomatic Asylum to the founder of Wikileaks.
