London, 21/05/2014. This evening, hundreds of cyclists held a demonstration at the Elephant & Castle roundabout where the cyclist Abdelkhars Lahyani was killed by an HGV (heavy goods vehicle) on the 13th of May, and in protest at increasingly dangerous traffic conditions. The demonstration started with a chalk "draw-in" of a cyclist lane on the footpath and ended with a 10-minute "die-in". Cyclists and pedestrians are increasingly distressed at the number of larger vehicles (including buses, trucks and lorries) with blind spots driving on inner city roads which are responsible for the majority of deaths. <br />
