London, 27/01/2013. Today is the International Holocaust Day, also called Holocaust Memorial Day in the UK and Italy. A day designated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 on 1 November 2005 to remember the victims of the Holocaust: 6 million Jews, 2 million Gypsies (Roma and Sinti), 15,000 homosexual people, and millions of others killed by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. The 27th of January (1945) marks the day of the liberation by the Soviet Union army of the largest death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. <br />
To coincide with the Holocaust Memorial Day the Jewish Museum London exhibited portraits of Primo Levi amongst the Museum permanent collection.<br />
