London, 28/07/2012. Counter Olympics Network (CON) organised a demonstration in London's East-End, from Mile End to Wellington Green. Hundreds of protesters claimed that their aim was not an anti-Olympics march but a protest against the corporate interests behind a sport event like the Olympic Games and against the militarisation of the area which hosts the Olympic Park. The demonstration was attended also by a group of Circassians who protested against the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games to highlight the forgotten Circassian Genocide (around 1.5 million people killed) made by the Tsarist Russia in the 1800s.
