The demonstration was organised globally following the "Fridays for Future" actions directly related to Greta Thunberg (2.), the 16 year old "Swedish political activist seeking to stop global warming and climate change, [who] in August 2018 became a prominent figure for starting the first school strike for climate, outside the Swedish parliament building" (source Wikipedia.org, 3.).
