London, 27/02/2015. Today, SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) students and activists held a demonstration on the School steps to protest against Matteo Salvini, leader of the Italian right wing party "Lega Nord", who will march in Rome Saturday 28 February alongside the neo-fascist group Casapound and other Italian and European right wing groups. From the organisers Facebook page: <<Matteo Salvini is an Italian politician. And one of the worst kind. He is currently leading the Lega Nord party, a xenophobe, racist and homophobic right-wing party that is gathering consensus (as these kinda parties do these days... just think of Front National and UKIP). On Saturday 28th, the Lega Nord and Casapound (an overtly neo-fascist group) have called a national demo in Rome. We are calling all SOASians, Italians and non, to join us for a rally on the SOAS steps, to take a picture under the slogan SOASDOESN'TWANTYOUEITHER (in solidarity with the counter-demo organised by roman activists ROMEDOESN'TWANTYOU)>>.<br />
