London, 09/10/2011. UK Uncut organised a peaceful occupation of Westminster Bridge to protest against the proposed reform of the NHS (National Health Service). Hundreds of people gathered since the morning on the iconic London bridge that connects the Houses of Parliament on one side with the major Guys and St Thomas Hospital on the other. Protestors said NO to the privatisation of UK hospitals and health services. In the afternoon a group of protesters tried to reach Parliament Square (which had been prohibited for the entire event) via Lambeth Bridge but police officers kettled them at the north side, and detained them there for an hour.
