Protester - 2011<br />
<br />
London, 06/12/2011. Hundreds of Congolese people protested today causing blockages to traffic on Whitehall. They claimed that during the 28th November election in Democratic Republic of Congo, the re-election of the President Joseph Kabila was achieved with electoral fraud, preventing the legitimate elected candidate Étienne Tshisekedi from becoming the new President. In Whitehall the situation became tense as police forces made a kettle, and began arresting several people. All remaining protesters were escorted by police to the nearby tube station where they were contained, causing chaos and outrage as police prohibited many black members of the public who were not involved in the protest and were trying to leave the tube station from passing through.
