Rome, Italy. 13th November, 2024. Today, during a ceremony at Campidoglio - the City Hall of Rome - the Italian-Roman singer and songwriter Antonello Venditti received the Lupa Capitolina, the Roman top honour, from the capital's mayor Roberto Gualtieri. The Lupa Capitolina was awarded to Antonello Venditti "who, in addition to being one of the main Italian singer-songwriters, with his songs he gave some of the most famous declarations of love to the city of Rome".<br />
The Lupa Capitolina (Representing the Female Wolf symbol of Rome) is described as the highest recognition that Rome gives to "illustrious personalities who have left, and continue to leave, an indelible mark on the culture and imagination of our city."<br />
«Antonello Venditti is an Italian singer-songwriter and pianist who became popular in the 1970s for the social themes addressed in his songs.
